Manual Therapy

Manual therapy rapidly addresses postural imbalances, injury, and chronic pain as well as a host of internal imbalances similar to those treated by acupuncture. Manual therapy is very effective at helping release stored trauma. By addressing the physiological anchor of emotional and psychological pain, clients can experience freedom to enjoy life unencumbered by their past. Manual therapy is also very effective at improving athletic performance.

Treatments involve a trained therapist using acupressure, fascial release, massage, guided breathing, and stretching to activate the recipients own healing energies, as well as offering advice based on classical Chinese and modern herbology and healing theory.

“Devon is incredible. He has helped me and my family in so many ways. His manual therapy skills are great. Our family is very sports active and is always straining and spraining our bodies. In one instance a well respected orthopedic surgeon wanted to perform surgery on my shoulder and Devon resolved the problem in 6 – 8 sessions. I have no problems with the shoulder anymore. He is very valuable to us and a great friend.”  Bruce C.

It is important to dress appropriately for manual therapy and shiatsu. The best option is to wear loose, comfortable, preferably natural fiber clothes that cover your body adequately to stay warm (our clinics can be cool). We suggest cotton lounge wear or something equivalent. Natural fiber fabric greatly facilitates our ability to manipulate muscles and connective tissue effectively. It is not necessary to bring clothes to change into, as often one can find street wear that works nicely. If you choose to bring clothes to change into, please allow time before your appointment to use the restroom (at the end of the hall on the left) to change.
